National NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held across Australia from Sunday 2 July – Sunday 9 July this year to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
The 2023 National NAIDOC Week theme is For Our Elders, recognising the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Elders have played and continue to play across every generation.
You can learn more about NAIDOC week events and awards, and download educational resources from the NAIDOC website.
SBS Learn also has a range of educational resources exploring this year’s theme to help teachers celebrate key Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, perspectives, histories and stories with students.
