Created and Loved: a guide for Catholic schools on students’ identity and gender

Created and Loved (Second Edition, 2026) is an updated guide for Catholic schools responding to questions of identity and gender with care, clarity and compassion. It builds on the first edition, released in 2022, and reflects further theological, pastoral, legislative, educational and medical developments, as well as practical experience in schools. Created and Loved (Second Edition) supports Catholic education authorities and schools in forming leaders and staff to respond thoughtfully and consistently in their local contexts and is grounded in the Catholic understanding of the human person: that every person is created by God, loved by God, and possesses inherent dignity, regardless of circumstances.
