The National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC) acknowledges with respect that Dr Sally Towns has stepped down from her role as Executive Director of Brisbane Catholic Education.
Over the past four years, Sally has led with vision, dedication, and compassion, guiding a system of 146 schools with a focus on faith-filled, inclusive, and high-quality education for every student. Her leadership, marked by commitment to Catholic mission, educational excellence, innovation, and strong partnerships with families, will have a lasting impact across the archdiocese.
Sally has had a remarkable career in Catholic education, having previously served as Director of Catholic Schools and Chief Executive Officer of Lismore Catholic Schools Limited. She holds a PhD examining the transition from primary to secondary school, a Doctor of Business Leadership, three masters degrees in Education, Educational Administration, and Business Administration, a Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies, and a Bachelor of Education. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
The NCEC warmly thanks Sally for her outstanding service to Catholic education. We send her our prayers and very best wishes as we celebrate the many contributions she has made to support students, staff, and communities throughout her distinguished career.
