Supported through National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC), the Safer Technologies 4 Schools (ST4S) initiative is a standardised approach to evaluating digital products and services used by schools across Australia against a nationally consistent security and privacy control framework.

The ST4S initiative is coordinated by the National Schools Interoperability Program (NSIP) with the goals and standards of ST4S being shared by all Australian and New Zealand education jurisdictions – including Catholic, government and independent school sectors – for the benefit of the whole education community.

  • Schools and educators will benefit from clear, consistent information regarding products and services, generic risks and suggested treatments.
  • Students, teachers and families will benefit from schools choosing more compliant products and services.
  • Suppliers will benefit from a standardised and aligned assessment process, with results that are respected by all participating stakeholders.
